UFC free fight: Deiveson Figueiredo submits Alex Perez in first flyweight title defense

Deiveson Figueiredo is establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with at 125 pounds.

Saturday, Figueiredo takes on Brandon Moreno, 21 days after their most recent bouts, in the main event of UFC 256 on Dec. 12.

The UFC flyweight champion picked up his first title defense win last month in the main event of UFC 255. Figueiredo (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) submitted Alex Perez with a guillotine choke in the first round of their title bout. It was a dominant showing from the champion.

Moreno is 4-0-1 in his most recent five outings. The UFC portion of the streak includes wins over Brandon Royval, Jussier Formiga and Kai Kara-France – and a split draw with Askar Askarov. He, too, last competed at UFC 255 where he stopped Royval in the first round.
