Jake Paul says personal shot at Conor McGregor’s fiancee ‘a taste of his own medicine’

Jake Paul remembers what Conor McGregor said about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife, and as far as the YouTube star is concerned, what goes around comes around.

Paul raised eye brows last week with an aggressive video callout of McGregor in which he got personal by invoking the former UFC two-division champion’s past legal troubles and the looks of his fiancee, Dee Devlin. The latter dig caused some to criticize Paul for going too far, but the way he sees it, the trash talk was just a page out of the McGregor playbook.

“I don’t give a (expletive),” Paul told TMZ. “He spoke on Khabib’s wife. He said Khabib’s wife looks like a towel.”

Paul’s reference is to an insult that McGregor tweeted – and quickly deleted – about UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife in April 2019.

“Conor’s getting a taste of his own medicine, and now all of a sudden people are butt hurt (saying) I’m going too far. F*ck off,” Paul added. “This is the fight game. Why are people being b*tches now, all of the sudden? Same with Dillon Danis. They even said f*cked up sh*t about religion, Khabib’s religion. F*ck those guys.”

The day after his video calling out Mcgregor for a boxing match, Paul pulled a drive-by stunt on McGregor teammate Danis that appeared to be staged. Paul threw water balloons and toilet paper at Danis from the bed of a pickup truck as the Bellator fighter was filming an episode of “Below The Belt” with Brendan Schaub.

Paul has escalated his feud with McGregor and Danis ever since he knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson in the co-main event of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. pay-per-view last month.

While a date with McGregor appears unlikely at this point, since McGregor fights Dustin Poirier next month at UFC 257, Paul has interest from another former MMA champion in Ben Askren to do a boxing match.
