UFC PPV Increase, ESPN+ Subscription Rates Revealed

As we mentioned late last week, Disney is rolling out new subscription rates for ESPN+ beginning Jan. 8, just in time for the return of MMA cash cow Conor McGregor. “Notorious” headlines the UFC 257 pay-per-view (PPV) event later this month in Abu Dhabi.

So what does that mean for new subscribers?

An increase in the annual price for ESPN+, as well as the UFC package and UFC standalone purchases. Remember, ordering a UFC PPV is a separate, additional cost to the ESPN+ subscription but also comes with a discount on bundles.

The UFC 257 PPV, however, will not be available to purchase until Jan. 8, so there is no way around the $5 price hike. That said, there will be no changes to the monthly or Disney Bundle prices if you opted for the package offering Disney+ and Hulu.

Annual renewals for existing subscribers will remain $49.99 until at least March 2, 2021.

McGregor remains the promotion’s biggest draw despite his inactivity. The Poirier bout, a rematch from their UFC 178 showdown that ended in favor of “Notorious,” will mark just the second time the whiskey mogul has competed over the last two years.
