Face Off! ‘Maverick’ Stares Down Magny In Abu Dhabi

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight veterans Michael Chiesa and Neil Magny both hit the scale earlier this morning and successfully made weight for their UFC Fight Island 8 main event, taking place tomorrow (Weds., Jan. 20, 2021) on ESPN+ and ESPN from Abu Dhabi.

Chiesa (17-4) is 3-0 since bumping up to welterweight, defeating Carlos Condit, Diego Sanchez and Rafael dos Anjos. Prior to that, “Maverick” was on a two-fight skid in the lightweight division. Magny (24-7), meanwhile, is also the owner of a three-fight win streak, scoring big victories over Li Jingliang, Robbie Lawler and Anthony Rocco Martin.
