Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor is no stranger to personal injury lawsuits, ranging from flying water bottles to smashed cell phones. Heck, “Notorious” has even been sued by his fellow fighters.

That’s probably why “Mystic Mac” remains unfazed by his latest legal issue, stemming from a 2018 incident in Dublin, Ireland that was previously investigated by police. McGregor, as well as an accomplice, are being sued for unspecified damages.

“It’s old news,” McGregor told MMA Junkie. “It was investigated thoroughly over the course of two long years and I was cleared of any wrongdoing. And that’s it. There’s so much positivity in my life. I’ve got a great challenge ahead of me on Saturday night and I’m very excited to get in.”

After more than a year on the sidelines, McGregor will return to the Octagon this Sat. night (Jan. 23, 2021) for a lightweight pay-per-view (PPV) headliner against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257, which takes place inside Etihad Arena on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi.

It’s been a rough couple of years for the power-punching Irishman, who for awhile couldn’t seem to keep himself out of trouble — both stateside and abroad. Hopefully “Notorious” makes good on his promise to stay busy this year so that the only McGregor headlines we read are regarding his next fight.
