UFC Fight Night: Ray Rodriguez vs. Rani Yahya set for UFC’s March 13 card

A bantamweight clash between Ray Rodriguez and Rani Yahya is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Night card on March 13.

The event, which is set to be headlined by a welterweight bout between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev, does not yet have a confirmed venue or host city.

Rodriguez (16-7 MMA, 0-1 UFC) first announced the matchup via his Instagram account, with Yaha subsequently confirming the bout via his Instagram story.

Rodriguez was originally set to face Irwin Rivera at the event, but after Rivera was arrested on attempted murder charges, the bout was removed from the card.

But now “The Judge” faces a new opponent, and will attempt to get back to winning ways following his submission loss to Brian Kelleher on his octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 176 last September.

Yahya (26-10-1 MMA, 11-4-1 UFC), meanwhile, is looking to pick up his first victory since his first-round heel-hook submission of Luke Sanders at UFC Fight Night 135 in August 2018.

The Brazilian has fought twice since, dropping a unanimous decision to Ricky Simon at UFC 234 in February 2019, then battling to a majority draw with Enrique Barzola at UFC Fight Night 170 in March 2020.

With the addition, the UFC Fight Night lineup for March 13 now includes:

  • Leon Edwards vs. Khamzat Chimaev
  • Davey Grant vs. Jonathan Martinez
  • Matthew Semelsberger vs. Jason Witt
  • Jinh Yu Frey vs. Gloria de Paula
  • Ciryl Gane vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
  • Ryan Hall vs. Dan Ige
  • Eryk Anders vs. Darren Stewart
  • Guram Kutateladze vs. Don Madge
  • Steve Garcia vs. Charles Jourdain
  • Ricardo Ramos vs. Zubaira Tukhugov
  • Ray Rodriguez vs. Rani Yahya
