Video: Khamzat Chimaev literally destroys heavy bag with slams ahead of Leon Edwards fight

It seems Khamzat Chimaev is firing on all cylinders.

The rising UFC contender completely smashed a heavy bag in a video that surfaced ahead of his preparation for his first UFC main event bout on March 13. Chimaev (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) takes on top ranked contender Leon Edwards in a pivotal welterweight fight.

The Chechen fighter had no mercy on the heavy bag, slamming it until its insides were all over the training mat. Chimaev looked to be in shape and recovered from his battle with COVID-19.

Chimaev was scheduled to fight Edwards on Jan. 20, but he had to withdraw from the bout since he was not fully recovered from his COVID-19 infection. Reported by MMA Junkie, Chimaev had lingering issues with his lung capacity and needed more time to prepare for Edwards, forcing the UFC to reschedule the bout for March 13.

By the looks of the video above, Chimaev looks fully recovered and very dangerous.
