As a result of his fight against Conor McGregor at UFC 257 — which he won via knockout on Jan. 23, 2021 on “Fight Island — Dustin Poirier was able to contribute $500,000 for his Good Fight Foundation. That’s because prior to signing on the dotted line for the rematch, “Notorious” promised he would make the half a million dollar donation to Poirier’s foundation.

But “The Diamond” isn’t done adding to the fund just yet. The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim Lightweight champion of the world recently put up his Reebok fight kit he used for his fight against McGregor up for auction. The result was a cool $26,200 which will be added to his foundations account, which in this case will be donated to The Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana to providing all of its locations transportation and tutoring for students in order to promote academic success.

And Poirier could very well have another valuable fight kit up for auction this summer with reports surfacing that UFC matchmakers are eying a trilogy fight between he and McGregor sometime in May to break the tie.

Poirier was hoping to land a 155-pound title fight, but since the division’s championship picture is at a messy standstill at the moment, taking part in another million-dollar fight against “Notorious” isn’t a bad way to stay busy.
