Nasrat Haqparast steps in to face Don Madge at UFC Fight Night on March 13

After losing out on his initial opponent for UFC Fight Night on March 13, Don Madge will still get to compete on the card.

Guram Kutateladze has been forced out of the event due to a torn meniscus but Madge will remain on the card, with Nasrat Haqparast (12-3 MMA, 4-2 UFC) agreeing to step in to face Madge (9-3-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC).

A person with knowledge of the matchup recently confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. ESPN was first to report the news.

South Africa’s Madge hasn’t competed since defeating Fares Ziam via unanimous decision at UFC 242 in September 2019. Prior to that, the former EFC lightweight champion scored a second-round knockout of Te Edwards in his UFC debut in October 2018.

After seeing his three-fight winning streak snapped at the hands of Drew Dober at UFC 246, Haqparast rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Alexander Munoz at UFC Fight Night 174 in August.

With the change, the current lineup for UFC Fight Night on March 13 includes:

  • Leon Edwards vs. Khamzat Chimaev
  • Davey Grant vs. Jonathan Martinez
  • Matthew Semelsberger vs. Jason Witt
  • Jinh Yu Frey vs. Gloria de Paula
  • Ryan Hall vs. Dan Ige
  • Eryk Anders vs. Darren Stewart
  • Nasrat Haqparast vs. Don Madge
  • Steve Garcia vs. Charles Jourdain
  • Ricardo Ramos vs. Zubaira Tukhugov
  • Ray Rodriguez vs. Rani Yahya
  • Philipe Lins vs. Ben Rothwell
