Poliana Botelho vs. Ji Yeon Kim added to UFC Fight Night on May 1

A pair of flyweights will look to get back to the win column in May.

Poliana Botelho (8-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) will take on Ji Yeon Kim (9-3-2 MMA, 3-3 UFC) at UFC Fight Night on May 1, which does not yet have an official venue or location.

A person with knowledge of the matchup recently confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie, but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Combate was first to report the news.

Since moving up to flyweight, Brazil’s Botelho has gone 1-1 in her past two appearances. After defeating Lauren Mueller at UFC 236 in April 2019, Botelho suffered a unanimous decision loss to Gillian Robertson in October.

South Korea’s Kim is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Alexa Grasso at UFC Fight Night 175 in August, where she hit the flyweight mark for the first time in three fights. Prior to that, she scored a second-round knockout of Nadia Kassem at UFC 243.

With the addition, the May 1 lineup includes:
