LIVE! UFC 258 PPV Radio-Style Streaming Updates

We’ve purchased the ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) and with it our dynamic tag team duo, Matt Ryan and Harry Terjanian, will deliver the best possible ‘radio style’ play-by-play broadcast imaginable throughout UFC 258’s main card, starting at 10 p.m. ET in the video player below!

How does one spend the day before the second most romantic day of the year? Watching grown men and women beat each other about the body on pay-per-view (PPV), naturally.

That’s right, UFC 258 — which takes place tonight (Sat., Feb. 13, 2021) inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada — falls on the day before Valentines Day, which has given me an equal amount of hopeful and depressing days across the 31 years this piece of garbage body has gone around the sun.

And while there will be no flowers, chocolates, champagne or price-fixed dinner specials inside that eight-walled cage, there will be sadness, disappointment and, for one lucky person, a band of gold in the form of the UFC Welterweight championship.

Former friends and training partners Gilbert Burns and the current 170-pound champion Kamaru Usman will collide on a card that — much like my Valentine’s Day dates historically — has been changed or canceled over the course of the week.

But, UFC 258’s PPV main event is still on and we still have a chance to see one of the most romanticized things in mixed martial arts (MMA) …. someone trying to beat “The Nigerian Nightmare.” For many fans it was a dream they’ve had since Usman won the title in 2019, primarily those who rooted for the Snake Oil Salesman in a red hat who can wrestle a little bit.

However, much like the story behind Lauren Boebert’s dad seeming to be former wrestler and powerboat announcer Stan Lane, the idea of someone beating Usman feels fanciful and out of the realm of possibility. But, in the same way of Lane being the Julio Cesar Chavez of carnality making the Boebert thing feel very real, Burns’ ability makes that idea of Usman no longer holding the title very real.

Will it happen? Much like sitting at the restaurant (when there wasn’t a massive global pandemic STILL RAGING) waiting for your date, we’ll just have to wait and see …
