Featherweights Omar Morales and Shane Young set to clash at UFC 260

A featherweight matchup between Omar Morales and Shane Young has been booked.

The two fighters are set to meet on March 27 at UFC 260 in Las Vegas. MMA Junkie confirmed the news with a person close to the situation following an initial report from MMA journalist Christopher Reive on Friday.

Both Morales (10-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) and Young (18-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC) are looking to get back in the win column after coming up short in their last performances.

Morales lost to Giga Chikadze by unanimous decision back in October at UFC Fight Night 179. It was his first professional defeat. The Venezuelan fighter had bested Dong Hyun Ma and Gabriel Benitez prior to the defeat.

Meanwhile, Young is out to bounce back from the first stoppage loss of his career. He suffered a knockout to Ludovit Klein in September at UFC 253. Young was on a two-fight winning streak prior to the defeat.

Below is the updated lineup for UFC 260:

  • Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou – for heavyweight title
  • Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega – for featherweight title
  • Jimmy Crute vs. Anthony Smith
  • Modestas Bukauskas vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk
