Bellator 255 — which is set to go down inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on April 2 — is starting to shape up nicely. The latest addition to the event — the first of the year for the promotion — is a women’s Flyweight bout between undefeated women’s Flyweight sensation, Kana Watanabe, taking on Alejandra Lara.

Watanabe is currently 9-0-1 and was last seen defeating Llara Joanne at Bellator 237 in December of 2019. Prior to that, Watanabe earned her stripes competing for RIZIN and DEEP. Her fight against Lara will be her official debut for Bellator since her fight against Joanne was while she was under contract with RIZIN, who co-promoted the event in Japan.

Lara, meanwhile, is currently enjoying a two fight win streak and has amassed a record of 3-2 inside the Bellator cage. She was last seen defeating Veta Arteaga via unanimous decision at Bellator 235 in December of 2019.

Bellator 255 will feature a Featherweight championship rematch between division champion Patricio Freire and Emmanuel Sanchez. Also on the card, Usman Nurmagomedov will make his promotional debut against Mike Hamel, while Matt Mitrione returns to face Tyrell Fortune in Heavyweight action.
