Werdum-Ferreira, Harrison-Morais Set For May 6

Professional Fighters League (PFL) will continue its regular season with high-profile matchups in the heavyweight and women’s lightweight division, taking place on Thurs., May 6, 2021 inside Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The main event will pit former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum (24-9-1) against Brazilian behemoth Renan Ferreira (6-2). “Vai Cavalo” has not competed since his submission win over Alexander Gustafsson in summer 2020. As for “Problema,” he was last seen strangling Jared Vanderaa on the regional circuit in Aug. 2019.

In the PFL 3 co-main event, Kayla Harrison (8-0) will try to repeat her championship performance from 2019, going head-to-head with Sao Paulo’s Mariana Morais (16-10). With the promotion postponing its 2020 season (due to COVID-19), Harrison made a pit stop in Invicta FC to smash Courtney King in Nov. 2020. Morais, meanwhile, recently knocked out Bianca Daimoni to win her third straight for Shooto Brasil.
