5 burning questions heading into UFC Fight Night 187: Can Leon Edwards land a title shot?

Following the controversial events of UFC 259, the UFC Apex is set to play host UFC Fight Night 187, with a pair of welterweight contenders looking to score a potentially career-changing victory in the main event.

The headline bout features the return of longtime welterweight contender Leon Edwards, who takes on short-notice replacement Belal Muhammad in a fight that could propel Edwards into a title fight, or place Muhammad among the group of future title contenders at 170 pounds.

The co-main event features a battle between two light heavyweight submission specialists, as Misha Cirkunov takes on Ryan Spann, while featherweights Dan Ige and Gavin Tucker are set to feature in a main card showcase at 145 pounds.

UFC Fight Night 187 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The event streams on ESPN+.
