That’s right – tickets are going on sale for a UFC event that’s not taking place in Abu Dhabi.
While a handful of select fans have been able to attend cards on “Fight Island,” next month’s UFC 261 marks the first time a full-capacity crowd has been invited to a UFC event since March 2020, as the promotion was forced to close its doors to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“UFC 261: Usman vs. Masvidal 2” takes place April 24 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. The night’s main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.
In the main event, welterweight champion Kamaru Usman (18-1 MMA, 13-0 UFC)meets Jorge Masvidal (35-14 MMA, 14-8 UFC) in a rematch. In the co-feature, women’s flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko (20-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) takes on challenger Jessica Andrade (21-8 MMA, 12-6 UFC). And in the third title fight, women’s strawweight titleholder Zhang Weili (21-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) takes on former champ Rose Namajunas (9-4 MMA, 7-3 UFC).
