Jaylon Bates on getting a Japanese necktie for his first pro finish at Bellator 256

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Jaylon Bates won’t forget his first pro submission any time soon – and MMA fans likely won’t, either.

Bates (2-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) submitted Jeffrey Glossner (2-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with a guillotine choke this past Friday at Bellator 256. That’s the easy way to put it. But his version was more of a Japanese necktie, which is seldom seen. Bates’ win came at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card aired on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.

Following the fight, Bates talked to the media about his win, the rarity of the submission, what comes next and more.

Check out his post-fight interview in the video above.
