UFC on ESPN 22 winner Gerald Meerschaert leaned on ‘introspective work’ to snap skid

LAS VEGAS – Gerald Meerschaert got back in the win column Saturday at UFC on ESPN 22, beating Bartosz Fabinski by technical submission in the first round of their middleweight bout. For Meerschaert, the victory snapped a two-fight skid.

In his post-fight interview, Meerschaert (32-14 MMA, 7-6 UFC) discussed the significance of the victory, leaning on “introspective work” to put his previous knockout loss to Khamzat Chimaev behind him, not feeling any pressure to be cut heading into the fight, and more.

You can watch Meerschaert’s full interview in the video above.

UFC on ESPN 22 took place at the UFC Apex and simulcast on ESPN and ESPN+.
