Submission! Watch Allen Lock Up Nasty Heel Hook At UFC 261

Brendan Allen made a big statement earlier tonight (Sat., Apr. 24, 2021) at UFC 261 live on ESPN+ PPV from inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla., when the middleweight contender finished game veteran Karl Roberson via first-round submission (heel hook).

Roberson was able to use his kickboxing early to land a few flush shots on the feet. Allen willingly exchanged but ultimately shot inside for the clinch. From there, Allen dragged Roberson down to the mat and started to work his way in top position. With moments left in the first round Allen was able to quickly tie up one of Roberson’s legs and secured the heel hook finish.

Allen shakes off a recent loss to Sean Strickland to earn this finish and push his overall UFC record to 4-1. The talented middleweight should earn a shot at the top 15 in short time and could make a solid run from there, especially if he can continue to utilize his outstanding submission skills.
