Reese’s vs. Dr. Pepper: Randy Costa, Adrian Yanez to settle friendly score at UFC event July 24

After weeks of friendly back-and-forth debating which is a better cheat item, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups or Dr. Pepper, two of the UFC’s rising bantamweight stars will collide July 24.

Randy Costa vs. Adrian Yanez is the latest addition to the UFC Fight Night event, which doesn’t currently have a location or venue.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking Tuesday, but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Costa (6-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) enters the fight riding back-to-back knockout wins over Boston Salmon and Journey Newson. The Taunton, Mass., native was scheduled to fight Trevin Jones at UFC 259 in March ,but withdrew due to an injury.

Yanez (13-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has won both his UFC outings by knockout since he earned a promotional deal on Dana White’s Contender Series, Season 4 in 2020. After a head kick knockout of Victor Rodriguez in October, Yanez knocked out Gustavo Lopez with punches in March.

With the addition, the UFC’s July 24 lineup now includes:

  • Maycee Barber vs. Miranda Maverick
  • Macy Chiasson vs. Aspen Ladd
  • Trevin Jones vs. Tony Kelley
  • Raphael Assuncao vs. Kyler Phillips
  • Mickey Gall vs. Jordan Williams
  • Randy Costa vs. Adrian Yanez
