The event takes place at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, N.J. The main card airs on ESPN2 following prelims on ESPN+.
In the main event, former Bellator welterweight champion Rory MacDonald (21-6-1) makes his PFL debut against Curtis Millender (18-6) in the welterweight regular season. Plus, two 2019 season winners are back: Ray Cooper III (20-7-1) meets Jason Ponet (20-12-1) at welterweight, and Emiliano Sordi (22-8) takes on Chris Camozzi (25-14) at light heavyweight.
Hamlet chokes out Spohn early in second
Marthin Hamlet (7-1) bullied Dan Spohn (18-8) to the canvas quickly in the first round and went to work in Spohn’s guard. He didn’t do a ton of damage, but he kept Spohn on his back the rest of the round. Right away in the second, Hamlet landed a takedown inside of five seconds. But rather than just grind it out, Hamlet quickly worked his way to an arm-triangle choke. The position was perfect once Spohn moved his left arm the wrong way, and within a few seconds, Spohn was out cold. The finish came 52 seconds into the second round and gave Hamlet 5 points in the light heavyweight standings.
