Krzysztof Jotko hopes to recapture momentum with UFC on ESPN 23 win over Sean Strickland

LAS VEGAS – Krzysztof Jotko trained hard and smart to ensure he’s able to get back in the octagon against Sean Strickland at UFC on ESPN 23.

Jotko (22-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC), who meets Strickland (22-3 MMA, 9-3 UFC) in a middleweight bout on Saturday’s main card, has been out of action since May 2020 due to a shoulder injury. He’s currently riding a three-fight winning streak but feels his momentum has been lost due to the layoff.

Now the Polish fighter is back, and he wants to continue his surge up the 185-pound hierarchy by putting a fourth consecutive victory on his resume.

“I think Sean has a very good condition, like me, so this will not be a guy who gets tired,” Jotko told MMA Junkie at UFC on ESPN 23 media day on Wednesday. “He has a fair amount of boxing, very technical boxing. I don’t have predictions for the fights, but I will give my best in this fight.”

UFC on ESPN 23 takes place at the UFC Apex. The entire card airs on ESPN2 and streams on ESPN+.
