UFC free fight: Jiri Prochazka starches Volkan Oezdemir in promotional debut

Jiri Prochazka made quite the impression in his UFC debut.

The former Rizin FF light heavyweight champion drew a stern test in former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 251, which took place July 11 at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Having scored knockouts in 23 of his 26 pro wins, it was no secret what Prochazka set out to do. He came out displaying some unique mannerisms and movements, completely taunting and disregarding Oezdemir’s power in the fight. However, Oezdemir was able to briefly stun Prochazka and was awarded the first round by all three judges.

But less than a minute into Round 2, Prochazka landed a left high kick which wobbled Oezdemir, proceeding to crowd him with combinations, before landing a massive overhand right which knocked him out cold.

Prochazka (27-3-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) returns to action Saturday when he takes on former title challenger Dominick Reyes (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) in the main event of UFC on ESPN 23, which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Before he faces Reyes, relive Prochazka’s finish of Oezdemir in the video above.
