UFC free fight: Michael Chandler takes out Dan Hooker in promotional debut

Michael Chandler made quite the statement in his UFC debut.

The former three-time Bellator lightweight champion faced Dan Hooker in the co-main event of UFC 257 this past January on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.

Chandler came out charging and pressed Hooker from the outset. He ate a few leg kicks but kept Hooker on the back foot as he threw hard shots to the body. Chandler continued attacking the body by throwing single shots, but midway through Round 1, he followed it up with a big lunging left hook that dropped Hooker. A few shots later and the referee stopped the fight.

Chandler (22-5 MMA, 1-0 UFC) returns to action May 15 at UFC 262. He fights Charles Oliveira (30-8 MMA, 18-8 UFC) in the main event for the vacant lightweight title at Toyota Center in Houston.

Before he faces Oliveira, relive Chandler’s win over Hooker in the video above.
