Sumiko Inaba valued Bellator 259 cage time to show improvement, hopes Hawaii fight in future

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Sumiko Inaba’s second professional fight took longer than the first but she’s more than OK with that.

On the preliminary card, Inaba (2-0 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) defeated Kristina Katsikis (1-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) via third-round TKO. The fight was her sophomore promotional and professional bout following a successful debut at Bellator 251 last November.

After the win, Inaba spoke to MMA Junkie at a post-fight news conference and described the upside to experiencing a fight that lasted longer than five minutes. She also talked about wanting to fight on the next Bellator Hawaii card and her relationship with former Bellator women’s flyweight champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane.

Check out Inaba’s full post-fight news conference in the video above.

Bellator 259 took place Friday at Mohegan Sun Arena. The main card aired on Showtime after prelims on MMA Junkie.
