UFC 266 books Uros Medic vs. Jalin Turner

A bout between two of the UFC lightweight division’s up-and-comers has been booked.

At UFC 266, Uros Medic and Jalin Turner will square off on the Sept. 4 pay-per-view event. The card doesn’t currently have a publicly-known location or venue.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie contracts have been signed but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement of the booking.

BJPenn.com had previously reported the fight was verbally agreed to for an unknown date.

Medic (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) earned his UFC contract with a first-round TKO win on Dana White’s Contender Series in August. At UFC 259 in March, Medic kept his 100 percent finishing rate alive when he defeated Aalon Cruz with strikes 100 seconds into their preliminary card fight.

Turner (10-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC), meanwhile, has won back-to-back fights after a 1-2 start to his promotional tenure. After a ground-and-pound victory against Josh Culibao in February 2020, Turner submitted Brok Weaver with a rear-naked choke in September.

With the addition, the UFC 266 lineup includes:

  • Champion Jan Blachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira – for the light heavyweight title
  • Sarah Alpar vs. Erin Blanchfield
  • Uros Medic vs. Jalin Turner
