After dominant win over Brett Johns, Danny Sabatello wants Jornel Lugo or Josh Hill next

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – Danny Sabatello is oozing confidence after his successful Bellator debut.

On just five days’ notice, Sabatello (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) defeated former UFC bantamweight contender Brett Johns in a lopsided unanimous decision at Bellator 259 on Friday, a win he expects to catapult him to the top of the rankings.

“Yeah I guess I did prove some haters wrong, but I don’t really give a f*ck about them,” Sabatello said at the post-fight news conference. “I know how good I am, I know how high-level I am. But this just proves it to the world, but the people that know me, the people that train with me, people that know me personally, they know I could beat anybody on any given night. This was five days’ notice. Imagine what I could do with a whole camp to a guy like that. I’ll finish him inside 10 seconds.”

The Dana White’s Contender Series alum, who trains out of American Top Team, wants to keep the ball rolling. He thinks his dominant win over a respected fighter in Johns has earned him the right to face a top ten bantamweight and he has two names in mind.

“I feel like I’m the best in the division, but after my first fight in Bellator, I don’t know if I’ll get a title shot, so I’ll just have to keep climbing the ranks,” Sabatello said. “It’s tough because that guy is not necessarily ranked in Bellator just because this was his first fight. I don’t know exactly where I’ll stack up in the rankings, but I should be up there top five, and then next opponent, I hope I can fight sooner rather than later, and it better be a top f*cking guy.”

He continued, “Jornel Lugo or Josh Hill’s p*ssy ass. I can face either of them. I’m hoping for August. I’m not a guy that likes to sit around. I’m a very active fighter. I know half the fighters out there are p*ssies and don’t want to fight, they want to fight once a year, so I’m not really gonna throw their names in the hat. So, I hope Jornel Lugo or Josh Hill. Both ranked guys, both guys that don’t have fights booked so that’s what makes sense to me.”
