With a baby on the way, motivated Ricardo Ramos ‘won’t sleep’ until he wins UFC title

LAS VEGAS – Ricardo Ramos wasn’t lacking motivation entering UFC Fight Night 188 and credits outside-of-the-cage factors for giving him an extra push.

UFC Fight Night 188 took place Saturday at the UFC Apex. The entire card streamed on ESPN+.

While there were a number of personal issues that he didn’t want to talk about that also contributed, Ramos (15-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) attributes his unanimous decision win over Bill Algeo (14-6 MMA, 1-2 UFC) to his baby he’s expecting later this year.

“I’m ready to get back to the gym, keep working, and keep getting better,” Ramos said at his UFC Fight Night 188 post-fight news conference. “I will not give up, and I will not rest until I become the champion. I know my baby is coming in October, but that’s something that I have to lead with to become the champion. That’s what it takes to become the champion. Of course, I will stay close to my family, but not the time I would expect to share with them. I will be working hard to be ready for everything.”

Ramos, 25, has now won two of three fights since moving up to 145 pounds.
