Laura Sanko aims to help grassroots MMA as Wimp 2 Warrior ambassador

Laura Sanko hopes her role as brand ambassador for Wimp 2 Warrior will help make things easier for people to enter MMA.

Wimp 2 Warrior is a global program that has the mission statement of taking everyday people and helping train martial arts in order to gain skills and confidence. Some will compete in an amateur bout at the end of their journey, but first and foremost it’s about getting people into the confines of a gym.

Sanko believes in what they are doing and that’s why she joined the team. With the addition of former Bellator matchmaker Rich Chou as VP of North America, Sanko said the reach of the program is about to grow even further and will do so by helping support the gyms that mold the athletes.

“They have a really good formula figured out,” Sanko told MMA Junkie Radio. “They’re really putting a lot of sweat equity and literal equity into developing the technology platforms behind what they do in order to really help lend some sophistication to the gyms.

“The goal of Wimp 2 Warrior is to get more people to train mixed martial arts, or martial arts altogether, or to make mixed martial arts more accessible to the everyday person.”
