Reports: Anthony Pettis withdraws from PFL 4 due to illness; shakeup in lightweight matchups

Thursday’s PFL card has taken a big hit.

2021 PFL 4 will be without former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, who has withdrawn from his bout against Alexander Martinez due to illness, according to multiple reports. Ag. Fight broke the news.

Pettis (24-11) was scheduled to headline the card against Martinez (8-0) as part of the second and final bout to earn points to qualify for the lightweight tournament.

With Pettis no longer on the card, 2019 PFL lightweight champion Natan Schulte (24-4-1) will step up and serve as the main event against Martinez in Atlantic City, N.J. Raush Manfio (12-3), who was set to take on Schulte on late notice, now meets Pettis on June 25 at PFL 6.
