UFC 263 pre-event facts: Can Israel Adesanya thwart Marvin Vettori’s takedowns?

The UFC puts on its seventh numbered event of the year on Saturday with UFC 263, which takes place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., with a main card that airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.

A championship doubleheader tops the card, and both are rematches. Israel Adesanya (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) will run it back with Marvin Vettori (17-4-1 MMA, 7-2-1 UFC) for middleweight gold after winning the first fight by split decision in April 2018, while Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1-1 MMA, 9-1-1 UFC) and Brandon Moreno (18-5-2 MMA, 6-2-2 UFC) fight again for the flyweight strap after battling to a draw in December.

In addition to the title fights, Leon Edwards (18-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) and Nate Diaz (20-12 MMA, 15-10 UFC) are set to scrap in the featured bout in what will be the first five-round bout in company history that’s neither a main event nor a title fight.
