Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather hug their way to the bank as their pay-per-view headliner reportedly cracks 1 million buys.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Logan Paul is expected to join a select group of boxing pay-per-view (PPV) events to clear the 1 million buys mark.

Boxing Scene reported on Wednesday that early estimations for Mayweather vs. Paul cleared 1 million PPV buys for Showtime. The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger confirmed the report, noting that while the numbers are not yet finalized, it did indeed clear seven figures.

Early estimates suggested approximately 600,000 of the PPV buys came from United States-based consumers. The asking price for the contest was less than Mayweather’s big-ticket pro bouts, available for purchase via Showtime and Fanmio for $49.99.

However, there were major streaming issues on fight night, which will ultimately result in refunds and eat away at the final PPV buys total once the dust settles.

Nevertheless, Mayweather holds PPV buy records for the top four boxing events in history: Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao (4.4 million), Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor (4.3 million), Oscar de la Hoya vs. Mayweather (2.4 million) and Mayweather vs. Canelo Alvarez (2.2 million). Ranking in fifth is Evander Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson 2 (1.99 million).

Mayweather (50-0) and Paul (0-1) fought eight-rounds in an exhibition boxing match with no judges. The bout took place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Sunday, June 6, 2021. The undercard featured Badou Jack vs. Dervin Colina, Luis Arias vs. Jarrett Hurd, and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson vs. Brian Maxwell.
