UFC rebooks Ion Cutelaba vs. Devin Clark fight for Sept. 18 event

The UFC has revisited the Ion Cutelaba vs. Devin Clark matchup.

Cutelaba (15-6-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC) will take on Clark (12-5 MMA, 6-5 UFC) at UFC Fight Night on Sept. 18. The card doesn’t currently have a publicly known location or venue.

A person with knowledge of the matchup confirmed the booking to MMA Junkie on Tuesday but asked to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. MMA DNA was first to report the news.

The pair were initially scheduled to square off at UFC on ESPN 23 in May, but Clark withdrew due to an undisclosed injury and was replaced by Dustin Jacoby. Cutelaba battled Jacoby to a split draw after Cutelaba started off strong and Jacoby rallied to even the score.

Clark is coming off a first-round submission loss to former title challenger Anthony Smith in November. Prior to that, he picked up back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Dequan Townsend and Alonzo Menifield.

With the addition, the Sept. 18 lineup includes:

  • Anthony Smith vs. Ryan Spann
  • Dakota Bush vs. Zhu Rong
  • Danaa Batgerel vs. Montel Jackson
  • Sarah Alpar vs. Erin Blanchfield
  • Tafon Nchukwi vs. Mike Rodriguez
  • Devin Clark vs. Ion Cutelaba
