Chan Sung Jung has had ups and downs during his octagon tenure, but Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 25 main event with Dan Ige was highly important if he wanted to keep his title aspirations alive.
“The Korean Zombie” came through in that moment. Jung (17-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC) outworked Ige (15-4 MMA, 7-3 UFC) for a unanimous decision at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, using timely takedowns and ground control to put rounds in the bank and ultimately get the nod on the scorecards.
Due to his skill set and large fan base, Jung has maintained position as a relevant featherweight contender for years. At 34, though, he only has so much more time to work with, and is looking for a title fight or the highest ranked contender available.
