No matter what version of Conor McGregor is on display during fight week, one thing remains the same: everything is bigger when the Irishman fights.
Long-time UFC commentatorJon Anik certainly feels the workload differences between a McGregor pay-per-view event and every other show that the promotion runs on any given week.
Ahead of Saturday’s UFC 264, Anik says his preparation, obligations, and requests have significantly increased leading into the trilogy fight between McGregor and Dustin Poirier.
“This sport is better when Conor McGregor is in it,” Anik stated. “If Kamaru Usman or another champion is headlining a pay-per-view, maybe I do five or seven media hits during the week. I’ve had over three dozen requests because Conor McGregor is headlining.”
Although the attention is elevated due to the big-name headliners, Anik also elevates his attention to detail for every fighter on the card to ensure they also receive the credit they deserve during the broadcast.
