UFC 264, headlined by Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor 3, is scheduled for tonight (Sat. July 10, 2021) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. As usual, UFC is documenting the lead up to the event with their “Embedded” series of vlogs, and episode 6 is up!

In this episode, the pre-fight press conference is recapped (as if anyone has missed those highlights). The weigh-ins were quickly recapped as well, again with most of the focus on our main event stars.

Then, things get interesting.

After the weigh-ins, McGregor found himself in an altercation with Rafael dos Anjos, the backup for tonight’s main event in case one fighter were to get injured at the last moment. There’s lots of history between the two, as McGregor and “RDA” were once scheduled to fight for the Lightweight title. That’s actually the origin of the now famous “red panty night” line.

Regardless, tensions ran high between the two men, who had to be separated. Undoubtedly fueled by a bit of weight cut misery, lots of expletives were thrown around, and dos Anjos accused McGregor of trying to sneakily size him up.

Barring catastrophe, however, this match will have to wait until after Poirier gets his third shot at the Irishman.
