For the first time in his MMA career, Conor McGregor is the loser of two consecutive fights, and it’s back to the drawing board for the former UFC two-division champion.
At UFC 264 this past Saturday, McGregor suffered his second straight stoppage loss to Dustin Poirier, but this one was bizarre as McGregor stepped back awkwardly and snapped his leg in the closing seconds of Round 1, rendering him unable to continue. Surgery has been performed, and McGregor has a road to recovery ahead of him – how long remains to be seen. He’s also got some choices to make.
All parties involved, including UFC president Dana White, seem to want a fourth fight with Poirier at some point, but is that the right move, or is there a better option for McGregor’s next fight?
