Bellator 262 weigh-in results: Diana Avsaragova makes weight after drama; title fight set

UNCASVILLE, Conn. – MMA Junkie was on scene at Thursday’s Bellator 262 fighter weigh-ins where all fighters made weight – but not without a little drama.

Women’s flyweight champion Juliana Velasquez (11-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) and challenger Denise Kielholtz (6-2 MMA, 6-1 BMMA) both hit their marks in the initial allotted hour – as did the rest of the card with the exception of two preliminary card fighters, who needed an additional hour.

Rising Russian standout Diana Avsaragova (3-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) used nearly every second allowed to hit the flyweight limit. After a miss on her initial attempt, Asvaragova hit her mark of 126 pounds (with the towel) on her second attempt.

Additionally, featherweight Johnny Soto needed two tries to make his limit, though he showed no signs of being drained when he sprinted into the room for his second attempt.

The weigh-ins took place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The same venue hosts Friday’s event, which has a main card on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
