Darrick Minner thinks he can be ‘better everywhere’ in Darren Elkins fight at UFC on ESPN 27

Darrick Minner is confident he can upstage Darren Elkins at UFC on ESPN 27.

Minner (26-11 MMA, 2-1 UFC) meets Elkins (25-9 MMA, 15-8 UFC) in a featherweight bout on Saturday’s main card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and he sees it as an opportunity to show where he stands among his peers.

Both men have been in the fight game for a long time, but Elkins has done the majority of his work in the UFC, while Minner is only going into his fourth octagon appearance.

It’s Minner’s goal to prove he’s not only on Elkins’ level, but also a notch above.

“I just want to go in there and show that he’s good, but I’m better everywhere,” Minner told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday’s UFC on ESPN 27 media day. “He’s been around, he’s fought the whose who and all that, but I just want to implement my game. I know if I show up and do what I do there’s going to be a path to victory, whether I finish or win a decision.”
