Christos Giagos vs. Arman Tsarukyan set for September UFC event

A pair of lightweights riding recent winning streaks will collide on Sept. 18.

Christos Giagos and Arman Tsarukyan will meet at a UFC event on that date, MMA Junkie today confirmed with two people with knowledge of the agreement who requested to remain anonymous because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

The card is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, though officials have yet to make a formal announcement. Broadcast plans for the card also have not been revealed.

Giagos (19-8 MMA, 5-3 UFC) was in action most recently in May, picking up a second-round submission win over Sean Soriano. With the result, “The Spartan” now owns a two-fight winning streak and stands at 4-1 in his past five overall contests.

Meanwhile, Tsarukyan (16-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) debuted in the UFC in 2019 with a loss to fast-rising contender Islam Makhachev. However, he’s since rattled off victories over Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Davi Ramos and Matt Frevola and now sands at 15-1 in his past 16 overall appearances.
