Mason Jones vs. Alan Patrick rematch added to UFC Fight Night on Oct. 23

After the indecisive ending to their first bout, Mason Jones and Alan Patrick will run things back.

Jones (10-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) rematches Patrick (15-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) at a UFC Fight Night event on Oct. 23 that does not yet have an announced venue or location.

Both fighters confirmed the booking on social media following an initial report from Combate.

The pair’s first outing, which took place at UFC Fight Night 189 in June, ended in a no contest after Jones inadvertently poked Patrick in the eye. The Brazilian was rendered unable to see, and as a result, doctors waved the fight off.

Jones was dominating the fight before the unfortunate ending, almost putting Patrick away in Round 1. After winning his first 10 pro bouts, the former Cage Warriors champion is winless in his first two octagon apparances, going through a hard-fought decision loss to Mike Davis in his promotional debut, followed by the no contest against Patrick.

Meanwhile, Patrick will be in search of his first octagon win since February 2018. After winning three straight bouts in the UFC, the 38-year-old has since dropped two straight to Scott Holtzman and Bobby Green.

The latest UFC Fight Night on Oct. 23 card includes:

  • Paulo Costa vs. Marvin Vettori
  • Walt Harris vs. Tai Tuivasa
  • Randa Markos vs. Livinha Souza
  • Daniel Lacerda vs. Jeff Molina
