Michael Bisping owes Colby Covington a “thank you” for the chuckle.

Colby Covington gave Michael Bisping a good chuckle with his aspirations to be a two-division champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Bisping, a former UFC Middleweight champion, scoffed at Covington claiming he can capture world titles in two divisions: welterweight and middleweight.

“Colby Covington, what’s he talking about? What do you think he’s talking about? He’s talking about becoming champ-champ,” Bisping said on a recent episode of his Believe You Me podcast (h/t BJPenn.com). “He’s talking about beating [Welterweight champion] Kamaru Usman and then he’s talking about going up and fighting Israel Adesanya and becoming a champ-champ.

“I get it, you’re selling tickets, you’re selling wolf tickets as the Diaz brothers would say, but still to beat Kamaru Usman and to go up and fight [Middleweight champion] Adesanya and beat him as well? What reality are we living in here, buddy?”

Covington (16-2) is expected to re-challenge Usman (19-1) for the UFC Welterweight championship on Nov. 6. The event is expected to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York and air via ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV).
