Vinc Pichel excited to show off changes after move to Factory X, but promises to be same ‘brute’

LAS VEGAS – After a year away from the cage, Vinc Pichel has made some major changes.

Pichel (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC), who was sidelined after a battle with COVID-19, has made the move to Factory X in Colorado ahead of Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 29 showdown with Austin Hubbard (13-5 MMA, 3-3 UFC).

“I made some changes in my life, in my camp and stuff, so I’m really excited for the fight,” Pichel told MMA Junkie during media day at the UFC Apex.

“I moved out of California. I’m in Colorado now. I switched camps – I’m training at Factory X now. I started lifting weights, I’ve never lifted weights in my career. So I’ve started lifting now, trying to strengthen up myself. So just a lot of changes like that, little tweaks to go for a title run this time, honestly.”

But the always entertaining Pichel has no intention of changing up his aggressive approach. He just plans on presenting it in a different way.

“I definitely have changed a little bit of my game,” Pichel said. “I’m still going to be the same brute when I go out there, and I’m going to show that. But there’s going to be some little differences in it. My conditioning has always been good. Since I’ve been at elevation in Colorado, it’s been – to me it’s just disgusting how unstoppable I feel sometimes. So just little changes like that.”
