Bella Mir, daughter of former UFC champ Frank Mir, open to signing with PFL: ‘It’s a big chance’

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Bella Mir could be headed to the PFL in the near future.

Mir (2-0), daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, was in attendance for the 2021 PFL Playoffs 2 on Thursday in South Florida, and things appear to be trending in a positive direction between both parties.

The 18-year-old is eligible to compete in the United States, and she’s targeting one of the most prominent promotions.

“Of course – they are awesome,” Bella Mir told MMA Junkie about her potential to sign with the PFL. “I just met with a bunch of the people, and they have, like, that family company, and I love everything about the PFL. It’s a big chance.”

One of the biggest lures to signing with the PFL is the tournament format. Mir, a national wrestling champion, is accustomed to the rigorous schedule from years on the mats.

“I relate to it so much from doing wrestling my whole life,” Mir said. “I just love that tournament style of, ‘OK, there’s a bunch of people here – it’s basically beat up a bunch of people, or they beat me,’ and I love that tournament style because I relate to it so much. Having a couple of fights a night, or just throughout the week – I love that.”

Mir has won her first two professional bouts. Most recently, she submitted Alma Cespedes in the first round at iKon Fighting Federation 4 in December 2020.
