The bodies kept hitting the floor earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 21, 2021) at UFC Vegas 34 live on ESPN/ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, as women’s bantamweight newcomer Josiane Nunes made good on her UFC debut with an upset knockout finish over touted prospect Bea Malecki.

Despite giving up a ton of length to Malecki the Brazilian newcomer was able to work inside and do some serious damage early. Malecki proved to be tough and absorbed everything Nunes had to offer, but things turned worse for Malecki towards the end of the first when Nunes unloaded more offense. After landing some combinations along the cage Nunes launched an overhand left that caught Malecki flush and put her out.

There’s something in the Las Vegas air tonight because every fight to start the “Prelims” undercard has delivered epic action. Nunes’ one-punch finish was spectacular in itself, but considering she was the smaller fighter making her debut as an underdog it’s an even bigger feat for the 27-year-old knockout artist.
