COVID Won’t Save Paul From Woodley Beatdown

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, no longer on clearance after scoring a high-profile boxing match against celebrity pugilist Jake Paul, wants to rid the combat sports community of the YouTube “bitch” once and for all.

And nothing will stand in his way.

That includes the coronavirus, which has already torpedoed one of the biggest boxing matches of the year. So if Paul tries to pull the COVID card as an excuse to withdraw from his Woodley fight, “The Chosen One” will be standing by with a rubber glove and Q-tip.

“He’s going to be the biggest bitch in the industry of female dogs if he backs out of this fight now,” Woodley, 39, told The MMA Hour. “If he tries to pull a COVID-19, I’m coming to his hotel and I’m sticking a Q-tip up his nose and I’m going to do it for seven tests. I want to see some X-rays. I want to see some ultrasound. I want the doctor to produce the [positive test] to me personally.”

Woodley vs. Paul is scheduled for eight rounds and will headline an all-boxing Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) card — available to stream for $59.99 on FITE right here — this Sunday night (Aug. 29, 2021) inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

This weekend’s event will mark Woodley’s debut as a professional boxer whereas Paul, 24, is already 3-0 in the “sweet science.” One of those victories came over “The Chosen One’s” longtime friend and teammate, Ben Askren, under the Triller banner back in April.
