Video: Which flyweight will be first to challenge Brandon Moreno for UFC title?

Perhaps the fight with the most title implications at UFC on ESPN 29 was the first bout on the main card this past Saturday.

In a key flyweight matchup, Alexandre Pantoja scored a submission win over Brandon Royval in a scramble-filled, back-and-forth battle.

Days prior to the fight, UFC president Dana White indicated the winner would likely be next in line for the belt. Immediately after the fight, Pantoja (24-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) politely made his case for a flyweight title shot with Brandon Moreno (19-5-2 MMA, 8-2-2), who was in the building at the UFC Apex.

Pantoja, 31, has a couple of wins over Moreno, but there are some cases to be made against him. Deiveson Figueiredo and Askar Askarov both believe they should be ahead in the pecking order, and Cody Garbrandt is out there as a potential ratings draw.

So what makes sense for “The Assassin Baby”? Is Moreno due? Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Matthew Wells, Nolan King, and George Garcia weighed in with host John Morgan.
