Video: It’s time to accept that Jake Paul is good for combat sports

Well, it happened.

The highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley went down Sunday night in Cleveland, with Paul outpointing the former UFC welterweight champion to win a split decision.

The Showtime pay-per-view event certainly was a spectacle and had big fight feels, although the action might’ve failed to deliver much in terms of entertainment value. But make no mistake: At this point, we can call Paul more than a YouTuber – he’s a fighter. And love him or hate him, the self-proclaimed “new face of the fight game” is doing big things and making people pay attention to more than just himself.

So with another Paul spectacle now in the rearview mirror, we ask: Is there room for more of this sort of thing on the combat sports landscape, or are we better off getting rid of it as soon as possible? Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Nolan King, Danny Segura and Brian “Goze” Garcia answered that question with host John Morgan.
