Khalil Rountree focusing on self ahead of UFC return: ‘It’s hard to please the MMA community’

LAS VEGAS – Khalil Rountree is no longer paying attention to the outside noise.

The UFC light heavyweight is tired of letting fan and media expectations influence the way he feels about his MMA career and UFC run. Rountree’s (8-5-1 MMA, 4-5-1 UFC) sole focus is himself ahead of his return at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 191.

Rountree takes on Modestas Bukauskas (11-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) on the main card of the event. UFC Fight Night 191 takes place at the UFC Apex. The entire card is set to stream live on ESPN+.

Rountree discussed at Wednesday’s pre-fight media day how other people’s expectations have affected his career in the past, the matchup with Bukauskas, trying to snap a two-fight losing skid, and much more.

You can watch Rountree’s full complete media day interview in the video above.
