Bellator 266’s Mark Lemminger isn’t intimidated by Gracie name, relishes underdog role

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Mark Lemminger spoke with the media Thursday ahead of his welterweight fight with Neiman Gracie at Bellator 266.

Lemminger (12-3 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) discussed what he expects from Gracie, relishing the underdog role, and his big opportunity fighting in a co-main event against a member of the Gracie family but not being overwhelmed by the moment.

“I don’t look at it as a win-win. I’m here to win,” Lemminger said. “I want to get in the top 10, and beating him is gonna get me there. The goal is to win. I’m not in here just to get my name out here because I’m fighting on the main card. I want to win this fight.”

He continued, “At the end of the day, I had to fight and claw to get to where I’m at. His name helped him a lot to get to where he’s at. I think Lemminger carries more weight, but I’ve got to prove that Saturday night.”

Bellator 266 takes place Saturday at SAP Center and airs on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
